Honduras vs the World – A David vs Goliath story – Update

Honduras vs the World – A David vs Goliath story – Update

So much has happened, and so much to talk about. Tonight, I will start off by updating you on the Honduras situation, which to my shock and surprise, still lingers on.

Zelaya stole himself back into Honduras on September 21st, like a thief in the middle of the night, aided without a doubt by Chavist logistics, and hid in the Brazilian embassy, making the situation a potentially dangerous international confrontation between Brazil and Honduras. Cowardly Chavez, who we all know is financing this, knows best to stay behind the scenes and involve other people to do his dirty work. In this case he chose a more “neutral” , well liked and respected president. But there is no doubt that Brazilian president Lula is making a huge mistake by having allowed Zelaya to take refuge in his embassy in Tegucigalpa. Rumors in Brazil are rampant that the citizens are not happy, and even at some government levels, it is said they regret having received this “guest” in their Honduran embassy, who’s causing them major headaches. Lula is eventually going to come out on the losing end for having allowed himself be talked into this ordeal by Chavez.

Now from the rooftop of the Brazilian embassy, where he hides like a coward, Zelaya comes out to incite his thugs to insurrection and talks of death, making the Brazilians very nervous and prompting the Honduran military forces to control the mobs, all while Hondurans try to lead the normal lives they’ve been leading since Zelaya was thrown out of the country in June. It is no secret that he was a law-breaking, abusive, narco-peddler, Chavez puppet, who lost total respect for his people, his government and his country and was ready to sell it to the ALBA thugs club and the Sao Paulo Forum. I will talk about these Chavist organizations in more detail in a next commentary, but suffice it to say, they are all made up of countries that subscribe to Chavist/Castro ideology.

As of today, the interim Honduras government is giving Zelaya too much credit by allowing him to sit down and have “talks”. Zelaya is like a misbehaved, petulant child, who feels entitled to his power, because he has the backing of the international community. What he fails to understand is that he lacks the backing of his own government, his own party, his own people in Honduras. He will insist on nothing less than being put back in power, and that is something that the interim government won’t allow, and like millions of Hondurans, I hope Mr. Micheletti, their interim president, never allows that.

See CNN’s Rick Sanchez’ excellent update. He speaks to both Mr. Micheletti and Mr. Zelaya shortly after Zelaya’s re-entry into the country. A must watch. See if you can pick out who’s lying in these interviews. Excellent job Rick! And thank you for bringing this to the American public.

As of tonight, October 16th, the talks are on a break. It is claimed that they have reached 90% agreement, except for one sticking point: Zelaya wants his power back and total immunity. Yeah right! This is like a Spanish soap opera. And hopefully, like all good Spanish soap operas, it will have an ending, where the villains get what they deserve, and the good characters prevail. I truly hope that for the good Hondurans.

I really don’t understand what is it that these “world leaders” are missing. Why can’t these few dozens of people see what hundreds of thousands or even perhaps millions of us see as clearly as the light of day? There was NO coupe. It was a constitutional transition! The people at Honduras were defending their constitutional democracy from the so well-known disguised attack “Chavez style”, a grab for unlimited terms and unlimited power via a fake referendum, designed to change the constitution. This is their “legal” maneuver to stay in power and become dictators, yes, the very presidents who have been initially elected by the people, but once in power, cheat their way into staying there.

See quote below from the newly formed international organization, UnoAmerica, uniting the people against these Chavist scams. They explain:

To achieve their goals, the members of the Sao Paulo Forum do not resort to firing squads to eliminate their enemies, as was done in Cuba by Fidel Castro, the most prominent founding member of the FSP. They now use more modern and sophisticated methods. One basic process is through constitutional reforms that allow them to control all three branches of power, and to remain permanently in the Presidency. Elections are rigged and voting secrecy is, in practice, eliminated. Although these attacks on democracy are executed quite openly, other “moderate” members of the FSP — Brazil ’s Lula da Silva (co-founder of the FSP along with Fidel Castro), Uruguay ’s Tabaré Vázquez and Chile ’s Michelle Bachelet — don’t complain or criticize their radical counterparts.  Source:  UnoAmerica

As you may have read in point 14 of my prior update. Even though Zelaya was ousted before the referendum took place, computerized “results” were found in PCs confiscated by the authorities, showing that the constitutional change he proposed had already won a majority vote.  Unbelievable! This is how they do it. This is how Morales, did it in Bolivia, how Correa did in Ecuador, all following the Chavez example, who finances all these scams on the people of Latin America.

I wonder how it would be handled here in the United States if Mr. Bush or Mr. Obama suddenly had called for a referendum to change the constitution to allow them to stay in power indefinitely, and to increase the reach of their power, a bit like what Cheney did with his position. I wonder what would happen here in the United States if this “referendum” were held, and despite a majority vote against these changes, it is announced that by a slight majority, the changes are approved by the people, legalizing what will be from then on, a socialist dictatorship.

I wonder how would Americans react then if this “president” were to proceed to dissolve congress, fire every judge and clamp down on the media coverage. I wonder what would Americans do if our president were to replace each of these posts with people he and his office only can approve. I cannot imagine the outrage and furor of the people if this were to ever happen here.

Thankfully, here in the United States we are far from this awful example. Thankfully our current president is far removed from this type of ideology. But the example I mention above is the very thing that has happened in Venezuela, in Bolivia, in Ecuador and was about to happen in Honduras. If the United States congress and Supreme Court saw this was going to happen here, don’t you think they’d start impeachment proceedings right away to get rid of the law breaking, cheating president? Well, that is what the Hondurans did! They went to their laws and constitution and used that to remove the wanna-be dictator.

What if then the law-breaking, wanna be dictator is removed and the majority of Americans are relieved, but then the UN, the OAS, the EU, declare it a coupe and demand the bad guy be put back in power and start isolating the USA from all commercial and financial exchange? How many Americans would be outraged?

Why can’t these world leaders see it? I shake my head tonight and just can’t seem to understand what is it that they fail to comprehend.

Don’t they know that Chavism is the 21st century version of Communism?

I don’t understand why otherwise respectable global organizations have ganged up against the little nation of Honduras, just because they were wise enough to stand up to the Chavist dictatorship model. How dare these foreign bodies meddle in their internal political issue, taking away sorely needed aid, trying to pressure the brave Hondurans into putting Zelaya back into power. Zelaya is a thug. He’s one of Chavez’ people. It is no secret!

I just don’t get it.

Why is my highly respected president Obama backing Chavez and his gang and demanding he be restored to power? Why is my highly admired Secretary of State Clinton, also insisting on Zelaya’s restitution? Why is UN’s Secretary General Ban Ki-moon refusing to accept the UN’s own research and conclusion that indeed Zelaya’s firing from power was constitutional, as per Honduran law?

Are they that blind and deaf not to notice that Hugo Chavez and his gang, including Castro, are behind this? Don’t they know about the ALBA alliance? Don’t they know about UNASUR or the Sao Paulo Forum? These are organizations meant to grow in power to expand the “Bolivarian” vision of communism and socialism throughout Latin America, to overcome democracy and capitalism and all the ideals fought for when we claimed our independence from the European monarchies.  I bet Simon Bolivar is turning over in his grave right now because these Chavist thugs are using his name for their communist ideology. Simon Bolivar, our George Washington in Latin America, was far from that.

Don’t these foreign countries and organizations know that Honduras was next in line? Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua have already fallen prey to the disguised Chavist dictatorship. Their citizens are beginning to wake up, but a bit too late, and try to fight back. The constitutions have been changed and the entire government of each of these countries has been set up to support the dictators, their corrupt regimes and their multiple terms.

Don’t they know that Hugo Chavez is aligned with Castro, with Ahmadinejad in Iran, with rogue nations that would love to have access to the United States and strike at us? Don’t they see the pattern? It is a matter of national security and sooner or later it’ll be in our own backyards. Why can’t they give some respect to Honduras, for not falling prey to the ploy?

Don’t they know that OAS Secretary Insulza, who has been so much in favor of Zelaya, has family ties to Hugo Chavez? Haven’t they done their homework? Are our leaders going to bow down to dictators who massacre and abuse their own people, just because they head countries rich in oil?

I can’t understand why the UN and OAS are accusing the Honduras interim government of violations of Human Rights, when all they are doing is keeping the peace and defending themselves from the mercenaries sent in from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba as well as the narco-thugs from the FARC, who are paid to go to Honduras and destroy property and intimidate its citizens.

Aren’t these the same organizations that look the other way when it comes to the blatant and horrendous Human Right violations in Iran, Venezuela, and China? Oh! They don’t want to meddle there because they claim is a domestic problem. Or is it that they don’t want to upset the leaders and lose their commercial contracts?  Of course, Honduras doesn’t hold that type of financial power, therefore, they can pick on the little tiny country in Central America, and think they can tell Honduras what to do.

In 2000, when the Supreme Court decided, unfairly, who would be the next president of the United States, and gave the election to George W Bush, making the biggest mistake in the history of this country, despite all the proof of election fraud, I don’t recall any global organization pronouncing their opinion about our situation, and refusing to recognize Bush as the new president.

So, when the Honduras Congress and Supreme Court, based on their constitution, fire their president, who had obviously trampled the laws, why is everyone meddling in their internal affairs?

When I think about the unfairness of this situation, it outrages me. But at the same time it makes me have so much respect for the Honduras interim government, headed by president Micheletti, who’s loved and admired by the majority of his people, for remaining strong in the face of unfair treatment by the international community, not to mention the international press, which for the most part has clueless “foreign” reporters sent to Honduras.

Many of these reporters from the international press arrive to Honduras thinking they know the situation, and report with their biases, using Chavez propaganda terminology, such as the “de facto” governement, or in Spanish, the “golpistas”, when in truth the interim government is legitimate, made up of citizens defending their democracy. They link up to TeleSur, the Chavez news network, and feed video and audio from them. They fail to sit down and speak with the interim government, with the average Honduran who’s not out there demonstrating, making noise. They all want to talk to the loud ones, Zelaya and his thugs, all wearing some kind of red outfit, complaining about violations of human rights. Give me a break! These are killers, who hide among the poor who had been paid to stand there and make all that noise! These are thugs who prey on the weak and the poor. And so the press falls for the show the paid “Zelaya supporters” put on. They don’t dig deeper, trying to find out who pays them, and whether these “supporters” are really from Honduras, for it is known that mercenaries are being sent by the Chavez/Castro regimes to pass themselves off as Honduran supporters. I wish the press did their homework and did not fall for the well-financed and orchestrated show put on by Chavez and his thugs.

There is no doubt that the Hugo Chavez petro-and-narco-dollars have gone a long way to influence even the most powerful people in this planet, but I do believe in Universal Justice. And I take a deep breath as I say this: the time will come, when the scales of justice will balance out.

I am also beginning to realize that each one of the people in these oppressed nations cannot count on other countries to help them. Many of these outside organizations like the UN, the EU and OAS have obviously other interests, are ignorant of the truth, or already have come to their own conclusions based on their own biases about Latin America. The citizens of Latin America are going to have to lift themselves, unite and take on these dictators on their own, just like the Iranians are trying to do in the Middle East.

Don’t get me started on Iran. That is another outrageous failure of these so called world leaders. When I learn about the executions and horrendous abuses in Evin prison, I ask, where is the press? Where is the UN? Where are the Human Rights advocates? Are they all in Honduras? Despite that, I understand the spirit of the Persian people won’t be broken. They have every intention of taking down the regime. Unfortunately they cannot count on anyone else but themselves. All the powerful nations are looking the other way.

There is no doubt at this point, that due to these massive check failures, the political fate of each of these countries lies in the hands of their own citizens.

After all, isn’t that what we did against the corrupt and self-serving monarchies here in America a couple of hundred years ago? It’s something worth remembering and worth serious thought.
